Please, show up to class with clothing that covers you from neck-to-toe and shoulder-to-wrist. You will also need to purchase your own pair of leather, cuffed gloves within the first few weeks (with the exception of pugilist). Some may be available for purchase.
New students will not have a need to purchase their own protective gear and practice weapons till they have been with the school for awhile and can get a better idea from their instructors on what is most apropriate.
* Remember, when it comes time to equip yourself,
protective gear and uniforms come first.

White, padded jackets with high collars and long sleeves. Cannot have any armpit openings, waist must overlap with your pant or skirt waistline. Modern sport fencing jackets are adequate, but the teather and crotch strap should be cut off and swewed for a straight 19th century fencing jacket look.

All Traditional martial arts schools, both Eastern and Western, have a required training uniform. Students will be required to obtain the necessary clothing and protective equipment.
Leather Gardening gloves with cuffs can be found at many gardening supply centers.
You can either find something that fits you at a store, or have something custom made. We post resources for this later.
